Meet the community

Out and about with Loujo: events, panels and awards that have brought Loujo closer to schools, families and the edtech community.

  • Alex presents Loujo on the Ignite stage at London Tech Week

    London Tech Week

Alex joined London Tech Week with Tech Nation to share how Loujo helps dyslexic learners remember what they learn through songs. It was a chance to connect with other edtech companies and founders working to improve how children learn. Since then, Loujo has grown to five languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Afrikaans) and is now used by customers in South Africa.

  • Alex on stage with other founders at the Startup Founders Building for Agency panel session

    London Edtech Week

Alex spoke on the "Teaching the Machine" panel at the Global Startup MiniSummit, hosted by UCL EdTech Labs and Newton Prep School on the first day of London EdTech Week. The panel discussed how AI should support teaching and learning without taking away human agency, a question at the centre of how Loujo is built. It was a chance to connect with other edtech companies bringing AI into the classroom responsibly.

  • Alex holds the Naidex Elevate 2026 winner's trophy on the main stage

Loujo wins the Naidex Elevate Pitch!

Loujo won the Naidex Elevate Pitch competition, supported by Lloyds Banking Group. Loujo presented to the judges and an audience from Naidex's disability community, alongside other companies building products for disabled people. It was Loujo's first pitch competition win and its third award of the year.

Alex Molokwu, founder of Loujo

Meet the Founder

Alex Molokwu

Entrepreneur and Neuroscientist

“The spark for the platform came from my eight-year-old niece, whose dyslexia made reading aloud a daunting challenge.”

Notes from the founder

“I founded Loujo to ensure that no child feels defined by their struggle with literacy. Having been diagnosed with dyslexia myself while completing a neuroscience degree, I understood the cognitive barriers she faced and knew how to bridge them. Loujo is an AI song based learning platform that helps dyslexic children overcome their struggles with reading, writing and spelling through short catchy songs. Loujo is designed to bypass the traditional hurdles of reading and writing, making the UK curriculum accessible, memorable, and fun for divergent learners.”

Alex was diagnosed with dyslexia while studying Neuroscience at Cardiff University. What helped him get through was music and catchy songs. He understands the struggles of traditional education. Fast forward twenty years: his niece was showing signs of dyslexia. Traditional methods based on reading and writing are failing dyslexic children.
That’s what led him to create Loujo, to help empower dyslexic students’ learning and build more confident children everywhere.
